São Paulo – An overview of the building sector in Dubai and opportunities for Brazilian companies was the subject of an event organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) this Tuesday (14) at the Conrad Hotel, in the emirate. The business analyst of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) office in Dubai, Mariana Marques, was one of the speakers.
From September 12 to next Wednesday (15), Dubai hosts the home and building sector show The Big 5. Apex-Brasil organized a mission that took thirty Brazilian companies to the event. In addition to visits to the show itself, the mission participates in other activities in the United Arab Emirates, including the seminar “The Big 5 Mission – Home & Building” [Missão The Big 5 – Casa & Construção], which took place on Tuesday, aimed at Brazilian businesspeople.
Furniture, ornamental stones, building materials, ventilation and exhaust, and plastic and houseware companies from Brazil participate in the mission. Among them are Angramar, Boulle, Brasforma, Cavaletti, Cortag, Lovato, Magban, Marbrasa, Martiplast, Multimoveis, Paludetto, Qualitas, and Telasul.
At the seminar’s opening, the CEO of the Apex-Brasil office in Dubai, Karen Jones, spoke about the home and building sector in Arab countries. Mariana Marques introduced the services provided by the ABCC and the organization’s 4.0 Space, which includes innovation and technology projects. She gave a brief overview of building in the region.
Thierry Vantomme, DP World business manager for Latin America, discussed Brazilian trade via Dubai. The director of contractor company Engeprot, Omar Khaled Hamaoui, presented Dubai’s construction market trends. Finally, the business development manager of Thomas-Bell Wright Consultancy, Abhishek Chhabra, addressed construction’s technical and regulatory requirements. The seminar had a questions and answers session before closing.
The goal of the business mission is to bring Brazilian businesspeople closer to potential buyers from the country and other Middle Eastern nations. Entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain are in the emirate for the event.
