São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will be at the 22nd Arab-German Business Forum, from June 25 to 27 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Berlin, Germany. The event will feature executives from German and Arab enterprises in a bid to enhance trade ties. Over 600 C-level executives and decision-making officials from across the Arab world and Europe will attend, according to the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which hosts the Forum.
Arab Chamber institutional relations manager Fernanda Baltazar will be there to keep tabs on discussions. “The goal is to get a fresh perspective on opportunities in Arab countries,” she said. The idea is to see how Germans build up their connections with Arab countries and find out what might be replicated in Brazil. All of the subjects in the agenda are relevant to Germany, and Fernanda intends to make inquiries to German players about how they approach dealing with the Arab countries.
According to the Arab-German Chamber, the Forum has become the premier platform for originating promising business opportunities between Germans and Arabs. The event was first held in 1998 (pictured above in the 2018 edition) in partnership with the Union of Arab Chambers and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, and sponsorship from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Egypt is the partner country for this year’s edition. Its prime minister Mostafa Madbouly is a guest of honor.
The agenda will include the future of the auto industry and mobility, related opportunities in the Arab world and synergies with Germany; investing in Germany’s real estate market; the fourth industrial revolution, digitization and their impact on new technologies; food security, nutrition and the food industry; the energy and petrochemical industries as drivers of diversification and a sustainable future; examples, visions and strategies in sustainability, training and education; and other topics.
Egypt will be featured prominently in panels on subjects including Germany-Egypt business relations, Egypt’s role as a business and investment hub, and stories of successful German investments in Egypt. the majority of panels on Egypt will take place from 12:15 pm on the 25th. According to the event’s program, besides Egypt’s prime minister, German authorities are expected to attend, including Economic Affairs and Energy minister Peter Altmaier.
The Forum’s website mentions that Germany is one of the most innovative countries in the world, with companies that offer myriad opportunities for cooperation, high-quality products and cutting-edge knowledge. As such, it complements Arab countries, which successfully overcame the oil market slump. It goes on to argue that opportunities are in place for Germans and Arabs in sustainable deals and cooperation.
