São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will offer a breakfast to Brazilian business executives during Gulfood, the industry expo slated for February 26 to March 2 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The executives will gather at 8:30 am on the second day of the expo, February 27, to get information on the food and beverage market.
The breakfast event will include the lecture “The ever changing food landscape of GCC,” by the Glasgow Consulting Group’s director Vishal Pandey, an expert on the matter. He will discuss the Gulf’s population income, food imports, local retail characteristics, the food industry’s fragmentation, suppliers, the potential of private label, and existing opportunities.
Pandey specializes in competitive strategy, with over 15 years of experience in the field. He has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, India, and the Middle East. Vishal Pandey has worked with Deloitte Consulting, in Dubai, and with other consulting firms. He has also done BSB research work, besides being a contributor to publications and constantly lecturing on innovation, growth strategies, foreign investment and retail throughout the Middle East and South Asia.
“In order to sell, more than simply being there, one must learn how the market works, what do they value, how they negotiate, what the end buyer is like, what the trends are, how the market evolves. The Arab Chamber is looking to provide that knowledge to the companies,” said to ANBA the Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun, who will be at the event.
The breakfast will be sponsored by the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK), whose Investment and Business Development manager David Zabinsky will also make a presentation during the event. He will explain to the Brazilian executives how to do business in the UAE and tell them about the services available from RAK. The Free Zone is located in the emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah.
The Arab Chamber will also give a presentation. The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) – the same venue as the Gulfood’s – in Room Al Ain J, first floor, Pavilion 4. Approximately 100 Brazilian companies will be exhibiting at Gulfood, in spaces organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and by the Arab Chamber.
