São Paulo – The Arab House issued a press release on Friday (21) with a humanitarian appeal for the end of the hostilities in the Middle East. For almost two weeks, Palestinians and Israelis have been clashing in a conflict between Israel and the Hamas group, which controls the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians live.
“We are dismayed to see the serious events in the Middle East, which grieve the region and the entire international community, particularly due to the significant number of human losses,” says the Arab House, an institutional development center for the relations between Arabs and Brazilians.
“The international community must strive to stop the hostilities, respect the religious, holy sites, and protect civil populations to ensure the stability and peaceful coexistence of all peoples across the region, which will only be achieved with the recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people,” the note goes on. According to the Arab House, the region, which holds a special significance for the world’s three major monotheistic religions, will only thrive by offering peace and dignity for all.
