Exhibitors at the Anuga Select Brazil trade fair want to enter the Brazilian market with dates, olive oils, and spices, but they need local partners who understand consumer preferences and know where the customers are.

Palestinian companies are showcasing dates and date-based products at the Anuga Select Brazil fair, which started on Tuesday (8) in São Paulo. They are also offering olive oils and pistachio-filled chocolate in bid to begin selling them to Brazil.

The Palestine Fair takes place on Saturday (5), from 10 AM to 5 PM, in São Paulo city. The event features regional sweets and savory dishes, traditional music, typical embroidery, and dances, among other activities. Visitors will also have the chance to join workshops.

How the Palestinian community living in Brazilian cities sees themselves in relation to their land of origin is the central topic of a work written by researcher Bárbara Caramuru Teles and launched on Friday (14) in São Paulo.

The Center for Arab Studies and the Department of Oriental Languages at the University of São Paulo are organizing a meeting focused on Arab themes in May. Registrations for those interested in presenting papers are open until February 28.
