São Paulo – Six Arab countries are exhibiting at the Vitória Stone Fair, the largest fair in the ornamental stone sector in the country, which started on Tuesday (7) and ends on Friday (10), in Vitória, in Espírito Santo state.
From Egypt, four companies are exhibiting: Crystal for Marble and Granite, El Hend Marbles, Iso Marble and Marmonil Marble & Granite. Oman and Palestine are also represented, with companies Gulf Stone Company and Verona for Marble & Industrial Investment, respectively.
"They are coming planning to trade on the American market, as there are visitors from Latin and North America," said Cecília Milanez, the fair organizer, regarding presence of the Arabs in the event. "They also aim to establish partnerships with Brazilians or to find a distributor in the country,” she said.
Arab companies are bringing rocks like granite, marble and quartz. Milanez pointed out that Vitória Stone Fair attracts not just Arab exhibitors, but also buyers from the region. “Dubai airport was built with stones from Espírito Santo. They came here to buy rock,” she said. “Brazil has the most beautiful stones on the planet,” she finished off.
This year, Vitória Stone Fair has 420 exhibitors, of which 110 are foreign. In total, the event brings together companies from 19 countries. In 2011, the event received over 25,000 visitors from 78 countries.
