São Paulo – Companies from the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Tunisia will be at the Apas Fair, to be held by the São Paulo Supermarket Association (Apas) from May 2nd to 5th at Expo Center Norte, São Paulo. The enterprises will be at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s stand.
Three Tunisian companies will be represented, as well as the Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (Apia). Delegates from eight Jordanian companies will also be in attendance, and a liaison from Dubai Exports, the emirate’s export promotion agency, will be representing 15 local companies.
“The idea is to try and sell goods to Brazil, especially olive oil, dates and spices,” says Arab Chamber CEO Michel Alaby. “Some of the Jordanian companies will also look for suppliers so they can import foodstuffs,” he said.
Besides the products mentioned by Alaby, the Arab enterprises will be selling items such as chocolates, rice, cakes, candy, beverages and camel’s milk. They will also offer plastics for packaging, air conditioning systems and perfumes.
According to Alaby, the Arab executives will pay a visit to the cereal wholesale hub around near São Paulo’s Municipal Market to talk business with olive oil and dates importers.
“The Arab Chamber will be at their disposal to act as a bridge between exporters and importers,” the executive notes. The Chamber’s stand will span 98 square meters on the expo’s white pavilion (F/G 11 street, stand #361).
In 2015, the Apas Fair featured 138 international exhibitors and welcomed 494 foreign visitors from 56 different countries.
