Created by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCAB) with the intention of promoting trade initiatives between Brazil and the Arab countries, the site has become an important source of information for Arab businessmen who export to the region. In the month of August, ANBA registered 19,980 hits, 15% more than in the previous month.

Lexi Olive Oil, one of the largest olive oil producers in the Arab country, is going to export its bottled product starting in 2005. Selling directly to Brazil, without intermediaries, is the main objective of Arab businessmen exhibiting at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce stand at the 34th Expo Abras, to finish today (16) in Rio de Janeiro.
The company, a traditional chicken supplier to the Middle East, should start selling greater added value products, including sausages and hamburgers, next year. They will be made with halal chicken so as to answer to religious demands. Perdigão also announced yesterday (14), during Expo Abras, investment of around US$ 82.5 million in the construction of an agro-industrial complex in the midwestern state of Goiás.
Sogemco, a food producer and exporter belonging to the group signed an official representation contract with Iacb Intercrop, a company from the state of São Paulo, on Tuesday (14), the second day of Expo Abras 2004, in Rio de Janeiro. Jordanian company Zumot Distilleries wants to export Arak to Brazil, and the president of trading company World Negoce has plans to establish a partnership with a national leather producer.
The second edition of the event will be inaugurated today in Manaus, capital of the northern Brazilian state of Amazonas, by presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, from Brazil, and Hugo Chávez, from Venezuela. Representatives of companies from the United Arab Emirates and Algeria are among the 300 foreign guests. The fair objectives are to integrate the Industrial Pole of Manaus with the foreign market and promote sustainable development of the region.

Sales of the product to Egypt have risen 105% between January and August this year, compared to the same period last year. Saudi Arabia and Algeria also showed large import increases. "We have been selling greater and greater volumes to the Arabs. The largest growth was to Algeria," informed Marcus Vinícius Pratini de Moraes, president of the Brazilian Beef Industry and Exporters Association (Abiec).
Businessmen from Tunisia and Jordan, participating in the international supermarket sector fair in Rio de Janeiro, in southeastern Brazil, made around 30 trade contacts on the first day of the event. Aeromot, an aircraft maker from the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul which produces aircraft Super Ximango, is going to start exporting a new model of the aircraft, single engine aeroplane Guri. The company has been producing aeroplanes since 1986. Of the 162 aircraft produced to date, over 100 were sold abroad. They are used for leisure and training. In 2002, the company won a tender to supply the Super Ximango to the United States Air Force Academy.
