São Paulo – To promote business with Brazil, a Brazilian corporate delegation is visiting the United Arab Emirates. They arrived in the country this Thursday (18) and will, until the 25th, attend a series of meetings to talk to investors. The group includes business owners from many fields and places, plus the mayor of Balneário Camboriú (picture above), Santa Catarina, Fabricio Oliveira, who traveled as a guest of the corporate meetings promotion agency that organized the mission.
Fabricio Oliveira has a meeting scheduled for October 21 at Brazil’s embassy in Abu Dhabi. Balneário Camboriú’s City Hall reported that he expects to meet with Brazil’s ambassador in the UAE, Fernando Igreja. The talks between the embassy and the delegation was mediated by João Paulo Paixão, head of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s office in Brazil, who could be at the meeting.
The mayor plans to include in his presentations, to be made in UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, the data about the city and its main ongoing projects. In addition to the meeting, Camboriú’s City Hall reported that Oliveira has scheduled meetings with corporate groups Al Jaber, which operates in many fields such as construction and transportation, and Dbridge Group Solutions, a Dubai-based holding company.
The public-private partnership projects are concentrated in the field of tourist infrastructure. Balneário Camboriú is a very popular vacation destination in the south of Brazil. Among the projects is the recovery of the sand strip of the city’s main beach, expanding it from the current 30 meters to 70 meters. Other plans include the construction of a park and an astronomical observatory near the shore.
Visit
The connection between Balneário Camboriú’s City Hall and the Arabs grew stronger in April of this year. At the time, the UAE’s ambassador, Hafsa Al Ulama, and her delegation visited the city after an invitation by the mayor. The group went to Santa Catarina to get to know the city’s economic and investments potential, especially in the tourism and construction fields. The delegation included representatives from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Novos Negócios agency, Emirates Airline and Dubai Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), reported Balneário Camboriú’s City Hall.
