São Paulo – The 2nd Arab Culinary Diversity Fair will be held in Brasília, from 11 am to 4 pm on August 10. The event is hosted by the Arab Brazilian Culture Institute (Icab), with support from the Federation of Arab Entities in Brazil (Fearab Brasil).
Admission will be free, and food will be available from Arab establishments and from descendants who provide delivery and catering services in Brasília and Anápolis. The restaurants involved will be Mercado do Kibe, Cozinha do Salim and El Mineh. Esfiharia Bsb owners Bassima and Fida Ahdad will also be there.
Apart from six Arab food options at affordable prices, there will be cultural performances including belly dancing and henna tattoos. Another attraction will be a dabke circle – a traditional Lebanese dance – with audience participation.
Accessories and clothing will be on sale, and professionals from the Brasília Association for the Visually Impaired (ABDV). will be giving massages. The activity is designed to build rapport between ABDV members and the Arab community. The massages will be available from two stalls, for BRL 25 apiece.
The event is intended to introduce fairgoers to Arab cuisine and culture. People will be admitted until maximum capacity has been reached. The first edition of the fair (pictured) was held in September 2018 as part of the Arab Week, with food, belly dancing and dabke.
