São Paulo – The Palestinian bar, restaurant, and cultural center Al Janiah, which is based in the district of Bixiga in São Paulo, could close its doors later this month, so it turned to a crowdfunding for survival. The venue faces the harsh reality of many small businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. You can help here.
The news release of the crowdfunding says that the venue has suffered irreparable losses and needs assistance for paying expenses and keep operating. Best-known for its concerts and cuisine, the venue had to adapt to the takeaway service. Many employees are refugees.
The venue calls for solidarity and says that every donation is important, no matter the value. The house hosts performances, events, course, plays, book launches, film screenings, photo exhibitions, and artists from across the world
This is the third crowdfunding that Al Janiah turns to for survival. The restaurant says it expects that the this is the last event as it’s resuming in-person service and perspectives improve every day due to vaccination.
