São Paulo – Arab Health, the Middle East’s leading healthcare trade show, has grown year by year, and so did the Brazilian pavilion, which has been present for two decades in the event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At the 2023 edition that ran from January 30 to February 2, Brazilian manufacturers affiliated with the Brazilian Health Devices (BHD), the program resultant from the partnership between the Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (ABIMO) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), close immediate deals worth of USD 4.2 million.
Furthermore, companies expect that other 2,300 contracts signed during the four-day event yield USD 16.6 million in new business over the following 12 months. “The show was a success. The high number of visitors since the first day made exhibitors have results above the expectations,” ABIMO Project and International Marketing manager Larissa Gomes was quoted as saying in a statement.
The show, which welcomes visitors from over 180 countries, gathered 31 companies focused on expanding their international business in the Brazilian pavilion. Opuspac participated for the third time and remains optimistic on exports. “Our pavilion is already part of the visitors’ expectations. So we receive many qualified people that are always very interested in our products. We’re very satisfied with the results and we’re already planning to participate next year,” Fernando Jacinto, Export manager of the company, was quoted as saying.
Some of the countries that visited the Brazilian pavilion the most were Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, the Philippines, India, Iran, Lebanon, Turkey, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sudan. “We were in the 2007 show, and 16 years later we noticed a huge evolution of the country and the event. This growth has really surprised us. We are highly satisfied, and it was better than we imagined. We managed to close many deals and we are satisfied” Cristine Giordano, representative for Evolve, was quoted as saying.
During the four days, the Brazilian pavilion received major industry leaders like Eliana Zugaib, Brazilian chargée d’affaires to the UAE; Leandro Vieira Silva, minister-counselor of the Embassy of Brazil in the UAE;; Tatiana Riera, Chief Operating Officer of ApexBrasil for the Middle East, North Africa and India; and Silvia Pierson, head of the Middle East Office of InvestSP.
