São Paulo – Brazil exported 3.28 million coffee bags in January, a volume 20.8% bigger than last month, according to information released this Monday (11) by the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé). The data considers green, soluble, roasted and ground product. Currency revenue from foreign coffee sales grew by 0.2% in the same comparison and reached USD 439 million.
“Brazilian coffee exports follow an intense rhythm. We registered a historical record for January, confirming the estimates. This result reflects a good harvest and the quality and competence of Brazilian productive chain. Our expectation is that the exports performance will remain positive during the rest of the coffee year, serving importers and specially the final consumers with excellence,” declares Cecafé president Nelson Carvalhaes.
