Brasília – Brazil’s Ministry of Economy has added items to the list of import tax-free capital goods, including machinery and equipment for industry. The move was made public this Friday (2) in the Federal Gazette.
The measure, which will be effective in two working days’ time, was designed to make the capital goods at hand more affordable. A similar ruling had been enacted last May. The newly enacted one will remain in effect through December 31, 2021.
Items added to the tax-free list include various types of furnaces, centrifuges, ovens, rotating machines, filters, labelers, packaging machinery, scales, hoists, propellers, cranes, piledrivers (pictured), vehicle bodies, casings, grinders, toasters, slicers, chainsaws, printers, cylinders, vises, drillers, presses, mills, mixers, pavers, gears, ultrasound, cables, and even automatic espresso machines.
