With growing exports of iron ore and betting on other metals, such as copper, to attain self-sufficiency, Brazil is more and more proving its vocation to the mineral industry. From 2003 onwards, the Mineral Trade Surplus – exports and imports – has been positive. And the surplus is rising ever since.
