São Paulo – Brazil will be one of the exhibiting countries at the third edition of the Nations Day Festival set to take place from June 9 to 11 in Beirut, Lebanon. The Brazilian participation is being led by the country’s embassy in the Arab country.
“Brazil will have a tent shaped-stand with handicraft made by Brazilians living here,” says Najua Bazzi, director of the Brazil-Lebanon Cultural Center, which is run the coordination of the Brazilian embassy. “There will be items such as paintings, purses, decorative candles and clothing,” she says.
In addition to the Brazilian products, the country’s stand will be handing out informational brochures with tourist information on the country and opportunities for Lebanese exchange students to come study in Brazilian universities.
“It’s a cultural festival in which the embassies display their traditions, tourism and other entertainment aspects of their countries,” says Bazzi. The festival will also have stands of sponsoring companies that will exhibit their products to the nearly 20,000 visitors expected to show up in this year’s edition.
“The festival has very good attendance, large crowds and it’s a good opportunity for people to interact with the embassies and get to know the culture of the participating countries,” says Bazzi. The festival is organized by the firms Beirut Golden Awards and VEAC in partnership.
Brazil has been exhibiting in the event since the first edition in 2015. Also exhibiting at the festival will be countries such as Italy, Mexico, Switzerland, Paraguay, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Germany, Romania and South Korea, among others.
