São Paulo – Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer delivered on Tuesday (2) the 1,800th E-Jet production aircraft. The jet was purchased by lessor Azorra, which is headquartered in Florida, United States, but it will be operated by a Jordanian client.
According to Embraer, the E190-E2 aircraft was delivered at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil. This delivery is the third E2 for the Jordanian airline. Royal Jordanian will receive a total of eight E2s under the existing deal.
The E190-E2 is part of a family of advanced-generation E-Jets that offer the quietest, lowest polluting, and most fuel-efficient aircraft in the under 150 seat market. In 20 years of service, the E-Jets have carried two billion passengers on 26 million flights.
Embraer: New technologies
“It’s great to mark this milestone along with two key partners, Royal Jordanian and Azorra,” Arjan Meijer, president and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said. “We’re always looking for ways to make our aircraft better – reducing operating costs, extending maintenance intervals, and adding new technology. Later this year we will announce a number of performance improvements for the E2, which has also proven it is ready to fly on 100% SAF.”
