São Paulo – The minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil, Luiz Fernando Furlan, stated today that the country government intends to organize a week of fashion in the Arab countries at the end of this year. Exports in this sector are growing to the region. This information was disclosed after the opening of the business meeting between Arab and Brazilian businessmen, in São Paulo, the financial capital of Brazil.
According to Furlan, the cosmetics sector also has a good acceptance on the Arab market. "We are growing strongly in the region," he said. With regard to imports, the minister believes that Brazil will buy products like oil, petrochemicals, fertilizers and some specialized products from the Arabs. "We believe that there is a very great range of products that may be offered by the Arabs and this varies from country to country," he said.
Furlan also recalled that the target is to reach US$ 15 billion in bilateral trade with the League of Arab States by 2008. "This is a very reasonable figure," he said.
