São Paulo – The Ministry of External Relations (Itamaraty) of Brazil and the country’s embassy in Algiers are organizing a stand for the participation of Brazilian companies in the 48th edition of the Algiers International Fair. The event, which is multisectoral, takes place on May 27th to June 1st in Algeria’s capital.
The companies interested in displaying their products in the Brazilian stand must contact the Trade Promotion and Investments section of the Brazilian embassy through the email secom.argel@itamaraty.gov.br to request the registration form.
The companies must send their registrations until April 30th. Among the registered companies, the embassy will select the ones to participate the event. The companies won’t have to cover any of the costs with the stand’s assembling and rent.
According to information from Itamaraty, the Brazilian space will have 100 square meters and will be able to host around 10 to 15 exhibitors. According to the ministry, they are planning to send companies from the agricultural equipment, industrial machinery and food sectors.
Itamaraty has said that these sectors were selected according to the listo f Brazilian products imported by the Algerians. Last year, Brazil exported the amount of US$ 1.152 billion in products to Algeria.
The main items exported were, precisely, food (sugar, maize, beef, soybean oil and dairy), tractors and Earth-moving machinery, The data was released by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) gathered by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
According to Itamaraty, in 2014 the event was attended by more than 1,000 companies from 37 countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. The fair received the visit of approximately 200,000 visitors.
In the last edition of the fair, companies in attendance were from the sectors of mechanical, metalworking, public works, construction material, agribusiness, services, agricultural material and hydraulic equipment, energy, petrochemical and chemical, and auto, among others.
According to Itamaraty, the benefits of the Brazilian attendance in the International Fair of Algiers are the high number of visitors from the region and the possibility to exhibit a wide range of products.
