São Paulo – A group of 52 Brazilian companies will exhibit at a beauty show in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, starting Monday (31). They will participate in Beautyworld Middle East 2022 with Beautycare Brazil, a project for the internationalization of the personal care, perfumery, cosmetics, and related sectors by the Brazilian Toiletry, Perfume, and Cosmetics Industry Association (ABIHPEC) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
According to a release based on data from the Euromonitor Institute, the UAE are the fourth leading market for these products in the Middle East, with USD 2.2 billion in business in 2021. Consumer sales in the sector grew due to the return of tourism and the control of the pandemic, which fostered an economic upturn. The most purchased products were makeup and fragrances.

The companies participating in the Beautycare Brazil project obtained USD 4.7 million in revenue from exports to the UAE in 2021, a 45% growth compared to the previous year. Of the total exports, 99.8% were hair products. Brazilian companies in the sector as a whole exported USD 9.2 million to the country in 2021, up 63% from the previous year. In total exports, hair products were also at the top of the list, followed by deodorants and fragrances.
“The UAE are an important market in the Middle East, and that is why we see Beautyworld Middle East as a great opportunity to show the Brazilian sector of Toiletries, Perfumery, and Cosmetics is consolidated globally as a supplier of high-quality products, with good diversification of export offers, and competitive products – many of them with inputs from Brazilian biodiversity in their formulas,” said the manager of International Business of ABIHPEC, Gueisa Silvério, in a note released by Beautycare Brazil.
