São Paulo – The products made by company Certa Cerâmica are present in four Arab countries. They are pans, baking trays and a special kind of kettle that are exported to a distributor and retailer in Egypt. Some of the products then head to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
“Most buyers are end users, but the products are also sold to restaurants, hotels and gift shops,” explained Aroldo Jeller Júnior, Export and Import coordinator at the company. The products made by Certa Cerâmica are traded under brands Ceraflame and MondoCeram.
Jeller says that the sales to the Egyptian distributor began three years ago. Today, of the 50,000 items the company produces each month, 15% are exported, being that sales in the Arab world represent 25% of the volume. Currently, the company exports to 15 countries. The list of buyers includes Russia, England, the Ukraine, South Korea, Italy, the United States, Paraguay and Bolivia, among others.
The executive reveals that the item most sold to the Arabs is a special kind of kettle, with a longer handle, used for preparation of Turkish coffee. “The product represents around 50% of the volume exported to Egypt, he said.
Jeller pointed out the quality and versatility of products made by Certa Cerâmica. “It is refractory, so it can be used to freeze the product and then go straight into the oven, and there is no danger of breakage. It can also be removed from the oven and put on cold marble. The products may also be used in the microwave, they are non-toxic and do not scratch,” he explained.
According to the company coordinator, there are good perspectives for growth in exports in 2013. “We participated in an annual fair in Germany, Ambiente, and, with this, we saw business expanding. Next year, expectations are to double exports. It is also a fair with many Arab clients,” he said.
Established in 1956, Certa Cerâmica is headquartered in Rio Negrinho, in Santa Catarina. The company has 500 employees and monthly revenues are R$ 3 million (c. US$ 1.5 million).
