São Paulo — Brazilian doctors and health specialists will attend the 31st Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) starting Thursday (22). The event will run through Sunday (25) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, alongside the 17th Annual Conference of the Emirates Cardiac Society (ECS).
According to the meeting’s program, confirmed participants include Nelson Dinamarco, a professor of cardiology and hypertension at the State University of Santa Cruz in Ilhéus, Bahia; Mario Fritsch Neves, director of the Biomedical Center at Rio de Janeiro State University; biomedical scientist Caroline Cristina Pinto-Souza, who works at São Paulo’s State University (UNESP); and UNESP dental school professors Débora Simões Colombari and Eduardo Colombari.
According to state news agency WAM, this is the first time the ISH meeting has been held in an Arab country. Holding it alongside the Emirates Cardiac Society conference provides an opportunity to connect regional professionals with experts from around the world and bring research and region-specific needs into global discussions on hypertension and cardiovascular health.
A total of 290 scientific papers from more than 70 countries are scheduled for presentation, including Brazil, Kenya, the United States, India and Egypt. The event will feature 140 speakers from the United Arab Emirates and 160 from outside the Gulf region. More information is available on the event’s website.
