São Paulo – RAK Porcelain, company from the United Arab Emirates, will be the sole Arab attendant of the hospitality fair Equipotel, which takes place in the city of São Paulo from September 14 to 17th. The Ras Al Khaima-based company produces high-end porcelain pieces. Among the products manufactured are plates, cups, trays, saucers, jars and other kitchen utensils.
“RAK is a traditional participant in the fair, it’s been here for some years already. It will organize a stand of more than 100 square meters, while the average stands at 35 square meters”, observed Luciele Marques, Equipotel’s Events Senior Manager. RAK attended the exhibition for the first time in 2010.
According to Marques, this year’s fair will welcome 20 foreign companies from eight countries, among them the United States, China, Ireland and Turkey.
According to the manager, the majority of foreign companies come to Equipotel to search for a distributor or representative in Brazil. She also says that companies that already have representatives in the country usually attend the event to expand and consolidate the relationship with the clients or get a better understanding of the local market.
The company from the UAE has a representative in Brazil, the importing company from Espírito Santo state Qualis, responsible for RAK’s stand in the event. “There are a lot of people that come to the fair looking for RAK. RAK already has a space in the fair that people easily recognize”, says the manager of Equipotel.
The executive says that the hospitality sector in Brazil is internationalized, with no difficulties faced by foreign companies to enter as suppliers. “We have a lot of international companies, especially of equipment and utensils”, emphasizes Marques.
Equipotel is the largest hospitality and gastronomy fair in Latin America. This year, the event will host 1,500 exhibiting brands and expects to receive around 60,000 visitors.
