São Paulo – The economist José Roberto Mendonça de Barros will administer the talk Perspectives for the Brazilian Economic at the offices of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce , in São Paulo, on March 18th. “He should discuss the challenges facing Brazil’s economy in 2014, and the outlook for this year and 2015,” says Arab Brazilian Chamber CEO Michel Alaby. “He will speak on future trends for the inflation rate, the interest rate, foreign trade, the fiscal deficit and the balance of payments,” the executive explains.
Mendonça de Barros is the founder of macroeconomic analysis and consulting firm MB Associados. During the first term in office of Brazil’s former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-98), he was the Economic Policy secretary to the Ministry of Finance. Barros is a member of the Board of Managers of bank Santander Brazil, of BM&F Bovespa, and of construction company Tecnisa, and writes for newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.
The economist will give an overview of the macroeconomic scenario in Brazil, discuss the consequences of economic change in the country, and assess the commodities market.
