São Paulo – A mission of construction and real estate development businessmen from the Brazilian state of Paraíba will attend the Big 5 fair, due from November 5th to 8th in Dubai, for their first time. The group comprises nine companies which want to become better acquainted with the United Arab Emirates construction industry, and see what is new at the fair, which is the leading event for the industry in the Middle East.
The mission is being organized by the Union of the Construction and Real Estate Industry of the State of Paraíba (Sinduscon-PB), in partnership with the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraíba (Fiep) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae).
“The mail goal is to see what’s new in heavy machinery and equipment, as well as metal studs, gypsum, drywall, and environment-friendly techniques,” says Helber Souto Maior Porto, a Sinduscon representative and managing partner at Nacional Construções, one of the participating companies. “We also want to attend the workshops at the fair,” he says.
According to Porto, the decision of going to the event in Dubai was made by Sinduscon chairman Lamir Motta. “He wants us to go to international fairs every two years, so that the builders in Paraíba will remain up-to-date,” he says. Aside from Nacional Construções, the mission will also include companies Batista Sales Engenharia, Cirne Construções, SVS Construções, Dijuan Construções, Martins e Porto Construções, Construtora Marilac, Orion Construções, and F. Nazareno Construções.
“The Big 5 was the fair that attracted our attention the most this year. It’s a new market for us, and we want to see what they’ve got to show,” says the executive. He also says the group is interested in scheduling meetings and technical visits to Arab companies.
