São Paulo – The opportunities for Brazil in the carbon credit market will be presented in a meeting on Thursday (6) at 9 am at the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABC) in São Paulo. The event will give Brazilian businesspeople the opportunity to learn more about one of the major topics of COP27, the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference to take place in November in Egypt.
The event “Pre-COP27: Expectations and Engagement of the Private Sector” is held by the ABCC and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Brasil. ICC will present a study it conducted with WayCarbon on the carbon market. In addition to this launch and the presentation about COP, Brazilian companies from different sectors will discuss the topics.
“As COP will be held in Arab countries this year and the next, we’re holding the event at the ABCC and bringing the views of the Arab countries on this topic,” said Fernanda Baltazar, director of Institutional Relations at ABCC. Next year’s COP28 will take place in the United Arab Emirates.
To get a better understanding of the topics of the conference, the executives will be able to watch the Pre-COP panels “Scenario and Prospects for Sustainability and Decarbonation in the Arab World,” “Launch of the ICC-WayCarbon Study on Opportunities for Brazil in the Carbon Markets,” and “Carbon Market in Brazil: Current Situation and Future Paths.”
Registration for the in-person event is open until Wednesday (5) at 12 pm. Lectures will be in Portuguese, with no translation into other languages.
