Today, in Dubai, the first edition of the Gulf Art Fair begins. The event brings together 38 galleries from various areas of the world. The objective is to make the emirate into an art trade hub as important as London and New York. The fair, to take place at Madinat Jumeirah resort, ends on Saturday, March 10.

Artist Ali Cherri, who holds a degree in Graphic Design, is currently in São Paulo, by invitation of the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation, to finish editing a video about the recent war in Lebanon, and to relate some of his experience to students and teachers at the institution. Cherri wants to return to Lebanon in late March with the finished work in hand.
