Dancer Maira Mattar, daughter of a Lebanese immigrant, decided to take Arab dances, like belly dancing, dabka and Bedouin dances, to the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Apart from the rhythm, the adolescents learnt to rescue their self-esteem through dance.
