The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) expects a 3.1% bigger harvest in 2019, while the National Supply Company (Conab) sees volume going up 4.2% in the 2018/2019 crop-year.

Blairo Maggi made an assessment of his term and said he recommended to the future Minister Tereza Cristina that she travels to countries of the region at the very beginning of the new government. He added that Brazilian agribusiness should achieve a new export record in 2018, with USD 100 billion.

In line with the upward trend of the past few years, foreign sales are expected to reach 1.62 million tons in 2018 – the biggest volume ever shipped from Brazil. Revenues are seen climbing 7.4% to over USD 6.5 billion.
