On August 27th and 28th, scholars from universities in the two countries will exchange information on teaching and research during an event in Brasília (capital of Brazil). The objective is to enable new cooperation efforts in the education and culture fields.

The professionals include Antonio Ferro, who teaches science during basketball classes in the state of Maranhão (northeast Brazil). The event will bring together people from approximately 40 countries, each presenting their own innovative teaching experiences.

Professor João Baptista de Medeiros Vargens should give a talk about language in the interaction between the Portuguese and Arabic speaking countries on August 9th. The talk will be at the Arab-Syrian Cultural Centre, in São Paulo, and will also mark the release of his book about teaching Portuguese to Arabic speakers in São Paulo, capital of the southeastern Brazilian state that goes by the same name.
