Brazilian president Lula arrives in the Swiss city tomorrow. Ministers Furlan (Development), Dirceu (Chief of Staff), Palocci (Finance) and Amorim (Foreign Relations), and the governor of the Central Bank are also on the delegation. One of the main themes of the World Economic Forum this year is the fight against poverty. The Brazilian president is going to address the matter there, and also at the World Social Forum, today in the city of Porto Alegre.

Agência Brasil Brasília – President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received the president of Bulgaria, Gueorgui Parvánov, today (12), in the Planalto Palace. The two presidents participated in a ceremony in which a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Rio Branco Institute (where Brazilian diplomats are trained) and the diplomatic institute of the Bulgarian

This mission is part of the country strategy of commercial promotion in non-traditional markets. The delegation is going to participate in business meetings and is going to present the potential of the Brazilian economy to Kuwaiti and Saudi businessmen. The group will be in the region between February 21 and 24. The Brazilian Foreign Office (Itamaraty) hopes to take between 40 and 50 companies, organizations and sector associations.
