São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is accepting registrations for workshop Cultural Aspects and Negotiation with Arab Countries, to be delivered by CEO Michel Alaby on July 16th at 9:30 am.
“I will discuss demeanor, dress code, etiquette, the definitions of Gulf Cooperation Council, Maghreb, and Levant, which aspects of your company to highlight when the time comes to talk business, how to prepare a business meeting and other issues,” Alaby explained.
He says Brazilians must bear in mind that there are major differences between negotiating with businessmen from the United States or Europe and with those from the Middle East and North Africa.
“Arabs negotiate with people, not companies. They value trust, medium- and long-term relationships, sobriety and regular visitation,” he said. Those are of paramount importance. The key lies in what to do and what not to do, and we will provide that key,” the CEO said.
Alaby is also discussing existing opportunities for Brazilian companies in construction in the Arab world. He will list major projects in the pipeline and explain how Brazilian enterprises can showcase their products by going to the Big 5 fair, due from November 17th to 20th in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“I will discuss the potential for construction in the Gulf, including projects for the Expo 2020, which Dubai will host,” he said. Alaby also stressed that Dubai has announced plans for a new megaproject, including a 743,224 square metre shopping mall, among other works.
The executive pointed out that this year, the Brazilian stand has changed place and will mostly feature marble, granite and ornamental stone companies.
