São Paulo – A delegation of Dubai executives will be in Brazil next week for seminars and business meetings. The goal is to seek new suppliers and encourage the establishment of partnerships between Brazilians and UAE companies. The visit is organized by export promotion agency Dubai Exports and the United Arab Emirates consulate general in São Paulo.
Mohammed Ali Al Kamali, deputy CEO of Dubai Exports, heads the group. Alongside him will be Ashraf Ali Mahate, the agency’s director of Export Markets Intelligence. Also coming are Khalid Al Janahi, general advisor to the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, and Mohammed Badri, the advisor to the Emirates Standards and Metrology Authority (Esma).
Saleh Ahmed Alsuwaidi, consul general of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo, will be with the group. Dener Souza, manager of Emirates SkyCargo for South America, will also take part in the events.
The visit of the executives to the country and their schedules will be coordinated by tourism advisory company Aviareps – Assessoria em Turismo with support from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
The companies in the delegation are ports operator DP World; Dubai Multi Commodities Center, a government body that promotes commodities trade in the Emirate; Module Engineering, a company with an interest to find partners for the execution of projects in engineering and architecture; Alpha Sky, a hospitality company seeking suppliers of photocopy papers, sugar and ground coffee; Selkar, a trading company that operates with several products, from construction materials to electronics and agricultural products; and Louis Dreyfus Commodities, which seeks buyers and suppliers of agricultural commodities.
“It’s the fourth time that a delegation from Dubai Exports comes to São Paulo. The goal is to promote Dubai as a trade and investments hub and also as importer and exporter of goods”, points out Michel Alaby, CEO of the Arab Chamber. “We invite the companies to attend the events with the delegation”, he adds.
The schedule of the Arab companies in the city of São Paulo starts on Monday (8th) with the seminar “Business with Dubai”, which takes place at Trade Federation of São Paulo State (Fecomércio), from 9 AM to noon. The event has as its target to present Dubai as a business hub and gateway for the Middle East. Participation is open to all companies interested in the topic.
On Tuesday (9th), from 10 AM to noon, there will be a panel at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) headquarters. The meeting will be closed and will gather companies from Dubai and invited lawyers and accounting offices. The goal is to improve the understanding of Arab companies about Brazilian laws and business methods of the country.
At the same day and place, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, a business meeting will be held between companies from Brazil and Dubai. Domestic companies interested in attending need to make a pre-registration to have their profiles assessed for participation.
