São Paulo – The embassies of the Kingdom of Bahrain and of the United Arab Emirates helped donate this Thursday (4) roughly 30 tons of food to vulnerable people in Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonas (pictured above). The action was made public on the Brazilian Federal Government website.
The embassies of Bahrain and the UAE donated 1,000 food kits each, TV Brasil reported. The entire donations will help feed some 14,000 people; the Embassy of Israel was also involved.
The food kits are getting delivered in Manaus with help from the Brazilian Air Force. A symbolic delivery was made to first lady and Volunteer Nation Council chair Michelle Bolsonaro, who made the donations official at the Embassy of Israel in Brasília.

The National Volunteering Incentive Program, aka Pátria Voluntária, was launched in July 2019, in a bid to encourage citizens’ involvement in sustainable, cultural and educational practices to the benefit of the more vulnerable population. Pátria Voluntária is run by the Council chaired by first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and comprising government officials as well as civil society delegates.
