São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has opened enrolment for participation of Brazilian companies at Khartoum International Fair, in Sudan. The multi-sectorial fair takes place from January 14th to 21st, 2013. The Brazilian booth is organized in partnership with the Foreign Ministry.
According to Janaina Calonga, commercial manager at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, there are good opportunities, mainly for producers of agricultural machinery and inputs, food, building and industrial engineering.
“Sudan is interested in attracting new companies and the country may operate as a ‘hub’ [for export] to other countries in North and also Central Africa,” she said.
The stand has space for eight companies, being that three slots are already occupied. The cost for participation is R$ 6,000 and also includes daily transport from the hotel to the fairgrounds, a bilingual receptionist and support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber team, apart from the space.
Exhibitors will also participate in private meetings with Sudanese businessmen in their areas of operation. “We are going to analyse the Brazilian companies heading to the event to guarantee that the meetings are productive,” said the manager.
Figures disclosed by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade show that from January to October this year, Brazil exported the equivalent to US$ 23.5 million in products to Sudan.
