São Paulo – A group of over 250 companies in the garment sector in the cities of Vitória and Colatina, in the southeastern Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, are going to undergo a training program based on a project developed by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), to export their products.
Apart from the ministry, the project is also being developed by the government of the state of Espírito Santo, the state branch of the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) and higher education institution Faesa. Named Industrial Export Expansion Project (Peiex), the program forecasts the training of micro, small and medium companies, over a period of 12 months. In the schedule, the forecast is for the program to begin within companies in the first half of this year.
"It is a management program at companies. The agreement between the Ministry and Faesa was signed at the end of last year and, with this, the training process should not include any cost for garment production sector businessmen," recalled the Production Hub manager at the State Secretariat of Development (Sedes), Francisco Ramaldes.
