São Paulo – Brazilian businesspeople can attend a series of events especially created for the Halal do Brasil Project during the Gulfood trade show. The events will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and aim to gather executives and decisionmakers of Brazil’s food and beverage industry to present and discuss the Muslim market.
The Halal do Brasil Project was launched by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) together with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and will initially run for three years.
The project’s events on the sidelines of Gulfood were presented on Tuesday (14) at the Warm Up Gulfood, an online event for companies that will participate in the ABCC mission to the UAE later this month.
The schedule includes a workshop on Tuesday (21) and a networking cocktail on the evening of Thursday (23). The workshop “How Halal Will Boost the Internationalization of Your Brand” will target Brazilian companies, Arab buyers and distributors, Brazilian and Arab press, as well as national and international authorities, certifiers and accreditation bodies. The purpose is disseminating the importance of the halal certification for companies in different sectors.
The cocktail “Business Networking Cocktail Halal do Brasil” will be preceded by a debate on the successful story of Brazil in halal exports, featuring the launch of book ABPA – Halal Poultry – From Brazil to the World. The executives will then be able to network and share experiences and opportunities. ABPA is the Portuguese acronym of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein.
During the warm-up event, Silvana Gomes, director of Marketing & Content at the ABCC, also presented the 2023 calendar of the institution, featuring other missions like one focused on startups, held by the ABCC Lab, that will visit Qatar and the UAE.
On the occasion, ABCC Market Intelligence manager pointed out the relevance of the UAE for Brazilian exports, particularly of halal beef and poultry, sugar, coffee and pepper.
Furthermore, events like Gulfood are attractive for the opportunity of boosting sales to the region as a whole, ABCC New Business director Guilherme Fedozzi pointed out. “Due to [the country’s] strategic location, Gulfood is the recipe for success for Brazilian businesses,” the executive concluded.
