São Paulo – To discuss the political situation and the meaning of popular movements in several Arab countries, the Arab Culture Institute (Icarabe) should offer course "Arab Countries: current conjecture and perspectives", to take place from March 21st to April 13th, in São Paulo.
In total, there should be eight lessons, to take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. According to information disclosed by the Icarabe, the course should discuss themes like Arab nationalism, the formation of the states, the political conjecture of the Maghreb and the Israeli question.
The lessons will be taught by professors and specialists, like José Arbex Jr., Murched Taha, Mohamed Habib, Oswaldo Coggiola, José Farhat, Mamede Jarouche and Samy Adghirni, among others.
The course is coordinated by Heloisa Abreu Dib Julien and the cost for participation is 210 Brazilian reals (US$ 126). To Icarabe members and students, the price is 180 reals (US$ 108). Enrolment is open up to March 17 and classes will take place at the Culture Space.
