Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian industrial production grew by 1.2% from May to June, completing nine consecutive months of positive results. In a comparison with June last year, there has been a 6.6% increase in production, which is the greatest rise since December 2004.
After the result recorded in June, the industry accumulates a 4.8% growth in production during the first half of this year. The data were taken from the Monthly Industrial Survey disclosed today (03) by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
According to the survey, 18 of the 23 industrial sectors recorded increments in production from May to June. The highlights were oil refinement and alcohol production, the pharmaceutical industry, and the motor vehicle industry.
