Brasília – Industrial production picked up in Brazil last February, as per the Industrial Indicators survey made public this Tuesday (2) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). The survey shows activity is recovering, according to CNI economists. A key driving factor was a 1.6% hike in both hours worked in manufacturing and revenue in February from January.
And a survey from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) also shows Brazilian industrial production picking up in February from January, by 0.7%. Year-on-year in February 2019, output was up 2%. Industry activity was down 0.2% year-to-date through February, and up 0.5% in the 12 months through February.
