Brasília – The federal government is preparing a decree to increase duties of the Secretariat of the Investment Partnership (PPI) linked to the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic Office, in order to allow it to support privatization, concessions and public-private partnerships in states and cities.
“It’s a front that we’ll support now since there are many investment policies that directly impact the population and are not under direct federal jurisdiction to offer this service,” said PPI special secretary Martha Seillier (pictured above).
According to her, “PPI is repositioning itself” and “creating a specific area to focus on subnational entities.” With this measure, the program will be able to support attracting investment for urban mobility, street lightning, solid waste treatment and sanitation projects; The Secretariat of the PPI will be able to support and advise on studies, projects, public audiences, changes in law, publication of notices, drafting contracts, and accountability.
