Brasília – The Information Technology (IT) market saw 4.5% growth in Brazil in 2017, the Brazilian Software Companies Association (Abecs) reported this Tuesday (27), based on data from a joint study with consulting firm IDC. The industry comprises hardware, software and services.
Abecs also reported that Brazil placed ninth on a list of global IT investment, with an inflow of USD 38 billion last year, trailing the United States (USD 751 billion), China (USD 244 billion), Japan (USD 139 billion), the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada and India. IT saw USD 2.07 trillion in investment worldwide last year.
According to the Abecs, Brazil ranks first in Latin America when it comes to IT investment. The industry association said the numbers show that the space that had been lost over the past few years is being retaken, and that technology investments in Brazil are more mature right now.
