São Paulo – Brazilian company JCF Embalagens will distribute packaging from factories in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates to the Brazilian market. The first products are expected to arrive in the country in May, according to the information disclosed to ANBA by the commercial director and founder of JCF, Josiel Feliciano.
Without giving details, the businessman reported imports would be aimed at a segment in short supply for packaging in Brazil. Feliciano was in Egypt and the UAE in November last year and this month and closed partnerships with Arab companies to meet domestic demand. In Dubai, he visited the Gulfood food show (pictured above).
Before the decision to import the packaging, a study was carried out on this shortage in the local market, and a business strategy in the area was set up. “It lacks in the Brazilian market, so I went looking for it abroad,” says Feliciano. The businessman detected a demand of large volumes in Brazil for the packages that will be shipped at least until the year 2024.
Imports will be made through another company owned by Feliciano, Unique International Business, which operates as a trading company. Investments were made through Unique to enable the shipping of packaging from abroad. However, JCF will represent the packaging of the two Arab countries in Brazil.
JCF partnering with big brands
JCF Embalagens is headquartered in Içara, in the state of Santa Catarina, and has an office in Carlos Barbosa, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Established about ten years ago, the company partners with packaging industries in the two southern Brazilian states to market and distribute its products. The types of packaging offered are diverse and include blown, injection, flexible, cardboard, corrugated, among many others.
JCF Embalagens supplies large companies in Brazil such as housewares and furniture brand Tramontina, footwear Beira Rio, and winery Casa Perini. JCF sells packaging mainly in the Brazilian market, but Feliciano also intends to focus on sales abroad, especially in Arab countries, through Unique Negócios Internacionais.
Unique to export
The entrepreneur bought unique about two years ago. Focused mainly on the foreign trade of packaging, the trading company is now expanding its scope of operation and starting to operate in other sectors, including food. Feliciano has been negotiating the export of chocolates without sugar, lactose, or gluten; sugar; eggs; cookies; and pasta from Brazil to the Arab market, in addition to Brazilian packaging products. The businessman made several contacts for these operations on his last trips to the Arab countries.
“I enjoy working with the Arab countries. They have great demand for many products,” said Feliciano, also emphasizing the ease of closing deals with Arabs and the relationships already established by his business in the region. The businessman already has representatives in the UAE, including operations in Egypt, and is considering opening an office in the UAE or Oman.
JCF has been a member of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) for three years. Feliciano’s trip to the UAE last year was part of a mission organized by the institution to the Middle East.
