São Paulo – The eighth edition of the International Agriculture Salon will take place from April 24 to 28 in Meknes, Morocco. The show attracts exhibitors and visitors from several African countries, and according to the Brazilian embassy in Rabat, there are opportunities for products such as coffee, fruit and especially agricultural machinery.
“These products are in great demand, because there are not many manufacturers in the country,” explains Laziza Dalil, who represents the embassy’s commercial sector. “Morocco needs to buy more machines to boost its farming,” she says.
The event’s organizers have made an 18-metre area available free of charge to Brazil, which the embassy is offering to interested companies. The facilities can accommodate two exhibitors, and in case other companies wish to participate, they will have to pay for their slots.
Dalil says the salon provides visibility to participating companies not only in the Moroccan market, but in nearby countries as well. “Last year, 13 African countries exhibited at the show and saw products from other countries. This is the best event for those who want to be seen in the African market,” she says. The 2012 edition had 42 participating countries, 920 exhibitors, and 630,000 visitors.
The embassy representative also says Brazil can supply the Moroccan market with all sorts of agricultural products, such as fruit and vegetables, in between crops.
Those interested in participating in Morocco’s International Agriculture Salon may contact the commercial sector of the Brazilian embassy by telephone, at +212 537 57 27 30, or email, at secom.rabat@itamaraty.gov.br.
