São Paulo – Natura, a Brazilian cosmetics brand, released, early in September, a male line of perfumes that has essences originally from Arab countries. They are scents from Tunisia and Egypt. In the male Natura Kaiak line, for example, is galbanum, which is originally from Egypt, and jasmine, also a plant from the land of the pharaohs. The product also includes essences from Italy, like bergamot, California, England and France.
In another perfume, the male Natura Kaiak Aventura line, the scent is mugwort, from Tunisia, as well as, once again, the Egyptian galbanum. The perfume also has Italian, English and Indian essences. Jasmine, for example, a sweet scented flower, despite coming from Egypt, is also found in Brazil and in other parts of the world. In India, it is used to make tea. Mugwort and galbanum are not that well known in Brazil.
The Kaiak line is already one of the classic lines, traditional for Natura, but it was re-released this month, with a new package and theme: "What moves you?". The new package is transparent with a silver metallic shoulder and glass with blue painting in the background. The fragrance, however, according to Natura, is still the same.
Natura is the national leader in cosmetics, fragrances and personal hygiene products. The company currently has 900 make-up, perfumery, sun block, facial, body and hair care products, among others. In the second quarter of the year, the company had net revenues of US$ 1 billion, 18% more than in the same period of 2008. In the accumulated result for the year, net revenues were US$ 1.8 billion, 22% more.
