São Paulo – Tunisia’s new ambassador, Nabil Lakhal, arrived in Brazil this Sunday (21) to start his diplomatic mission. Passing through São Paulo on his way to Brasília and accompanied by his wife Noura Korrab, he was welcomed at the São Paulo International Airport, in the city of Guarulhos, by the honorary consul of Tunisia to São Paulo, Rubens Hannun, who is also a former president of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the Institutional Relations advisor of the ABCC, Bassel Abou Latif (pictured above, left to right, Latif, Korrab, Lakhal, and Hannun).
“He is very welcome to Brazil,” said Hannun to ANBA. With this spirit of welcoming and making himself available for initiatives aimed at the state of São Paulo, Hannun received the new ambassador. The consul intends to visit the diplomat in Brasília in the coming days to discuss Tunisia’s relations with São Paulo. The ABCC also made itself available to the new ambassador.
Hannun said the embassy plays a fundamental role in the countries’ bilateral relations and highlighted the work between Brazil and Tunisia. “Tunisia is a very active country in trade relations. Tunisians come to Brazil to participate in missions and shows; they have had a significant presence at the APAS Show,” he said, regarding the participation of Tunisians as exhibitors in the annual food exhibition in São Paulo.
