São Paulo – Brazil will have a new footwear event in November, the Brazilian Footwear Show – BFSHOW devised as an important export channel for the sector. The event expects to receive 10,000 Brazilian and foreign visitors. Pictured above, the show’s marketing campaign.
The Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalçados) will hold the show in partnership with NürnbergMesse Brazil, one of the leading worldwide promoters of events and shows.
With four months to go, the show organizers have been making significant efforts to guarantee the presence of foreign buyers. Over 100 guest importers are expected, according to Abicalçados Project manager Letícia Sperb Masselli.
“Apart from these, importers will come independently, mainly from Latin America. We expect to have diverse markets, with buyers from all continents,” said Masselli.
The invited foreigners will come both through the BFSHOW buyer program and projects in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), such as Brazilian Footwear, a collaboration with Abicalçados to encourage footwear exports, and through the agency’s international offices.
The guests will have benefits such as airfare, accommodation, and a tailored schedule for the show, including business meetings, technical visits, and networking.
Foreigners in the buyer program at the show are being selected based on indications from exhibitors and prospecting. They can also contact the event’s organizers to express interest in participating.
Many indications have already been received and ranked, considering different criteria, such as active and potential buyers. The list could grow from the confirmation of participation in the show from new exhibitors and buyers.
Importers from Arab countries are expected. According to the Abicalçados Project manager, the list of buyers to be invited already includes Arabs, and the number could grow until November. “The Arab market is crucial for Brazilian industry and buys products with greater added value,” stated Masselli.
The executive believes Abicalçados’ experience participating in international shows will make BFSHOW a vital export business channel. “BFSHOW brings together the expertise of the entity’s team, with over 20 years promoting Brazilian participation in international shows and which always brings the largest foreign delegations in the main footwear shows in Europe, such as Micam Milano and Expo Riva Schuh,” explained Masselli.
The BFSHOW
Brands accounting for over 80% of the Brazilian production of children’s footwear, 73% of men’s, and 43% of women’s have already been confirmed as exhibitors at BFSHOW. Abicalçados explained the show was a demand from the Brazilian industry, and it is making a promotion campaign to attract buyers and professionals with decision-making power to visit.
BFSHOW will occur from November 21 to 23 this year at the Events Center of the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FIERGS) in Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul. The show will present the innovations in footwear for the autumn/winter season.
