São Paulo – On May 15th and 16th, Rio de Janeiro headquarters Accelerate Oil&Gas Expo-Forum 2012. In its first edition, the event should bring together high level executives in the oil and gas sector to participate in conferences, meetings and business luncheons and workshops. Representatives of Arab countries will be present.
The event is organized by British company Faircount Media Group, which operates in the area of publications, conference and events, among other activities in the media sector. Accelerate will have a small exhibition ara, with the highlights of the forum being conferences, to include names like Renato Bertani, vice president of the World Petroleum Council (WPC), José Renato de Almeida, executive coordinator of the National Oil and Natural Gas Industry Mobilisation Programme (Proninp), Ariovaldo Rocha, president of the National Union of the Naval and Offshore Construction and Repair Industry (Sinaval), among others.
Another highlight of the forum will be the meetings pre-scheduled in the Meeting Manager system, which electronically matches the profile of participating companies so the meetings are arranged according to their commercial goals. The Accelerate Forum will be attended by international delegations from countries such as Qatar, United Arab Emirates, United States, England and Scotland. The event’s organizers chose not to disclose the names of participating foreign companies, because their attendance is still being negotiated.
Brazilians whose attendance has been confirmed include executives from Petrobras, the National Oil Industry Organization (Onip), the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association (Abimaq), the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the Brazilian Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP), among other organizations. The minister of Mines and Energy, Edison Lobão, has confirmed his attendance. Representatives of the Ministry of Environment will also be present. Accelerate counts on support from government of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The event should be attended by approximately 700 participants.
The workshops will include two showcases, during which ten companies will demonstrate their products during six minutes. According to Faircont, the goal of Accelerate is to help participating find trade partners, especially at a time in which Brazil is developing new projects in the pre-salt layer. The company informs that the event will be held in at least the five coming years.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is backing the promotion of Accelerate. Chamber members will get a 15% discount for the event, be it as visitors or VIP participants, including the option to attend the pre-scheduled meetings. “This is an important oil and gas industry event, due to Petrobras’ new pre-salt projects,” said Michel Alaby, the Arab Brazilian Chamber CEO.
