Rio de janeiro – Oil and natural gas output by Brazil’s Petrobras in January averaged at 2.65 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. Domestic production was 2.47 million barrels, with the remaining 183,000 coming from abroad. Domestic oil-only production was 2 million barrels per day, with foreign oil production at 92,000 barrels.
Domestic output was down 7.1% in January from December. The company ascribed the decline to scheduled maintenance at some high-output rigs.
Oil production in foreign countries was down 4.2%. Petrobras attributed that to scheduled maintenance at Nigeria’s Agbami oilfield. Smaller output at Argentina’s Medanito field due to weather issues was another factor.
