São Paulo – Qatar is accepting applications for an award that will fund and provide technical support for innovative solutions to global education challenges. The WISE Prize for Education is organized by the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of Qatar Foundation. Projects from around the world are eligible to apply. Applications close on June 27.
In the 2026–2027 edition, each finalist will receive between USD 100,000 and USD 125,000 to turn their project into a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), a simplified version of an idea designed for market testing. Finalists will also receive mentorship and training for 12 months. The top three winners will share USD 1 million and will be announced at the WISE summit, to be held in Qatar in 2027.
The solutions must address at least one of the following priorities: reaching marginalized students and those with limited access to education; enabling the effective and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and other disruptive technologies; promoting culture and language as foundations for identity, belonging, and engagement; strengthening essential skills such as literacy and numeracy; and supporting students’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
In a report by state news agency QNA, WISE executive director Asyia Kazmi said the award was created to support institutions capable of transforming innovative ideas into practical solutions that can drive meaningful changes in education systems and expand their impact. Since its launch in 2009, the prize has recognized more than 100 innovative solutions and influential figures worldwide.
