São Paulo – Tech startups and companies in Brazil can register up until August 12 for the 2025 GITEX Expand North Star Mission taking place from October 9 to 15 in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, in an initiative of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae).
The purpose of the mission is to find companies with scalable solutions and looking to receive investments, expand internationally, and do business in the United Arab Emirates and other markets in the region. They will travel to 2025 Expand North Star, a conference on technology, startups and innovation taking place from October 12 to 15 in Dubai as part of the technology event GITEX Global.
More than 200,000 tech executives flocked to the last edition of GITEX Global, as well as over 1,000 global investors and roughly 6,500 businesses from 180 different countries. The event includes lectures, panels, pitching sessions, and awards, in a setting conducive to dealmaking, investments, and networking, ApexBrasil said.
ApexBrasil notes that all slots have been filled for the GITEX Brazilian startups pavilion, but companies can still join as guests in the hubs pavilion and as part of the Brazilian delegation, with over confirmed 40 startups thus far. Delegation member companies will get access to common areas for business meetings and have their logos featured on venue art.
“Participating in the 2025 GITEX mission represents a strategic opportunity for Brazilian companies to go international in one of the world’s most vibrant innovation ecosystems. The event in Dubai is a global showcase for tech solutions, connecting businesses with investors, hubs, accelerators, and partners in the United Arab Emirates, the MENA region, and other international markets,” ApexBrasil Dubai Office Operations manager Tatiana Riera told ANBA.
According to Riera, now is a particularly good time to join. “The United Arab Emirates have embraced a robust agenda towards economic diversification, with an emphasis on innovation, digitization, talent acquisition, and tech-based companies. Besides, the UAE’s recent joining the BRICS ushers in a new chapter in ties between emerging economies, supporting bridge-building between countries in the Global South,” she says.
According to the manager, this means a fertile ground for Brazil, whose startups stand out as a result of their ability to innovate with real impact, scalability, and applicability. “Not only does this new geopolitical layout enhance political and economic dialogue between member countries, but it also drives investment flows, knowledge transfer, and tech collaboration,” she asserts.
